What is potted
Potted is a community to swap, save, and share house plants (all kinds of plants really) and everything related to house plants.
It’s a growing community-based in the UK and we are all about sharing plants in a safe, quick, and friendly way. There is no haggling, no auctions, or no crazy prices, it’s simply plants that need a new home being put in touch with those looking for plants (perhaps for their new home).
Postage Needs to be fast
Shipping plants is more common now more than ever thanks to the advancement of speedy postage.
That’s why you must send your plants with a 24 – 48 hour courier to ensure you plants arrive alive!
Easier without the pot but don't bare all
Pots aren’t always included when buying a plant on Potted. Pots can be heavy and increase the price of shipping so if you don’t need to, don’t send the pot.
But don’t bare all! Although you can loose the pot don’t send the plant with bare roots, leave some of the soil on the roots to protect the roots and nourish the plant.
rules for our community
So everyone gets along we have a few rules and guidelines to ensure you, the buyer, and the plant remain happy.
- There’s no auctioning or bidding on Potted. Always set a reasonable price for your item.
- Be honest with the plants/items’ conditions. We are here to support each other and the plants we are rehoming. An honest reflection of the health of the plants helps the buyer and the plant.
- Please no external links on your listings.
- Listing your plant? You need a listing for each plant you are selling

Personalise your profile with pictures and a bio – remember a great-looking profile makes every feel at ease.
List Your Item
Click on Post A New Listing
Add a catchy title and a good description of your plant
The health of your plant should accurately describe the plant and its condition so the buyer knows what to expect in the post.
Add you reasonable price for your plant
Add your if you can offer a collection for local collection and/or postage cost
Add photos of your plant
Sold
Your item will be sold on the Potted marketplace ready to be connected the its new plant parent.
You’ll be notified when your plant is sold and then your need to organise a collection or send the plant.

Payment
When your buyer has received their plant and left you a rave review for your service funds will be sent via Stripe directly to your bank account.
Plant Success
And that’s it, you are now a plant saviour and sharer.
